Cambodia will build a modern railway line 260km long to connect the capital city Phnom Penh, Siem Reap and Sihanouk provinces.
The construction is assisted by the China Railway Construction Corporation and preferential loans from Chinese banks. It is part of a plan to connect the railways of ASEAN countries by 2015.
In the coming time, more preferential loans from China will be given to upgrade Cambodia’s railway system in order to foster economic growth in localities and transport links with regional countries.
