Phnom Penh (VNA) – Cambodian Prime Minister Samdech Techo Hun Sen has approved a proposal to build peace parks called "Techo Santepheap" in agencies, units and localities nationwide in the near future.

Speaking at a ceremony on June 20 commemorating the 46th anniversary of the journey to overthrow the Pol Pot genocidal regime at the headquarters of the Cambodian Ministry of Defence, PM Hun Sen said the construction of memorial parks in cities and provinces is necessary.

These parks will serve as a tribute to the past and provide recreational and exercise areas for the public, he said.

Since 2017, the ministry has undertaken the construction of numerous memorial structures at relevant locations, leaving a historical legacy for future generations./.
