Addressing the event, Chairwoman of the provincial People’s Committee Nguyen Thi Thu Thuy said that cooperation between Tay Ninh and neighbouring Cambodian provinces has been expanding, especially in developing trade. The two sides also worked closely together in border demarcation and border marker planting, and in searching for and repatriating remains of Vietnamese voluntary soldiers who died in Cambodia during the war.
Governor of Kampong Cham province Hun Neng recalled the great help that Vietnam had provided to the Cambodian people in overthrowing the Pol Pot genocidal regime on January 7, 1979.
He also spoke highly of cooperative programmes between Tay Ninh and Cambodian provinces. -VNA
