The Canada Border Services Agency (CBSA) has issued its final ruling on the claim against waterproof rubber footwear imported from Vietnam.

Under the decision, the Vietnamese footwear is accused of being dumped, causing losses to Canadian shoe manufacturers.

According to the CBSA, the Vinh Long shoe company dumps its products by 15.8 percent, Pou Yuen Vietnam – 7.3 percent, Fulgent Sun – 3.4 percent, and Stateway Vietnam – 0 percent.

Based on the CBSA decision, the Canadian International Trade Tribunal will impose anti-dumping duties on the Vietnamese shoes, which are expected to be announced on September 25.

The CBSA began investigation into the Vietnamese and Chinese footwear dumping at the request of the Shoe Manufacturers Association of Canada.

Last year, Vietnam exported over 4.7 billion USD worth of footwear, among which, more than 93 million USD to Canada./.
