A group of Canadian parliamentarians led by Thai Thi Lac, aVietnamese-Canadian parliamentarian, is on a working visit to Vietnam.

The visit helped the Canadian parliamentarians betterunderstanding Vietnam ’s socio-economic development and acknowledgeprospects for bilateral cooperation, especially in investment and theeconomy, Thai Thi Lac told Vu Xuan Hong, Chairman of the Vietnam Unionof Friendship Organisations, during their meeting in Hanoi on July15.

Chairman Hong, who is also head of the Vietnam-Canadafriendship parliamentarians’ group, and the Canadian parliamentariansshared experience and cooperation in law making between the twocountries’ parliaments.

They stressed the need to increaseexchanges of visits by delegations in order to enhance relations betweenthe two legislative bodies.

Chairman Hong said he wished thatThai Thi Lac, the first female parliamentarian of the Vietnameseoverseas community in Canada and one example of the success ofVietnamese expatriates, would make contributions to fostering futureVietnam-Canada relations./.
