- Former leaders of the Party and State contributed opinions to draft documents for the upcoming 14th National Party Congress at a conference organised by the Party Central Committee (PCC)’s Politburo and Secretariat in Hanoi on November 6.

- State President Luong Cuong will lead a high-ranking delegation of Vietnam to pay an official visit to Chile from November 9 – 12; pay an official visit to Peru and attend the 2024 APEC Economic Leaders’ Week in Lima from November 12 – 16.

- Authorities have established contact with both of the two pilots involved in a military aircraft crash, which occurred during a training flight over Tay Xuan commune in the south central province of Quang Binh’s Tay Son district on November 6.

According to the Ministry of National Defence, at around 6:45 p.m., rescue teams received information via a mobile phone of Colonel Nguyen Van Son, Commander of Air Force Regiment 940. Read full story

- Hanoi lured over 5.1 million tourists in the first ten months of this year, an increase of 28.5% over the same period last year.

Discussions proceeded in a democratic and scientific spirit, closely tied to the practical development needs of both the province and the country, effectively harnessing collective wisdom and the strong sense of responsibility among officials and Party members.

Politburo member Nguyen Van Nen, who is also a standing member of the subcommittee responsible for drafting the Congress documents, said one of the most important and breakthrough innovations in document crafting is the early rollout of new policy decisions and strategies before the Congress convenes. These have been tested in practice and refined through lessons drawn from 40 years of Doi Moi (renewal), before being distilled and embedded into the draft documents for consideration and adoption at the landmark gathering.

14th National Party Congress: Public expectations for new Party policies

The 14th National Party Congress will be a success and future policies will continue to prioritise social welfare, with stronger investment in health care and education, moving gradually towards free medical services and education to ensure equitable access to development gains, said Nguyen Dinh Ngo, 90, from Hue city.
