- Former leaders of the Party and State contributed opinions to draft documents for the upcoming 14th National Party Congress at a conference organised by the Party Central Committee (PCC)’s Politburo and Secretariat in Hanoi on November 6.

- State President Luong Cuong will lead a high-ranking delegation of Vietnam to pay an official visit to Chile from November 9 – 12; pay an official visit to Peru and attend the 2024 APEC Economic Leaders’ Week in Lima from November 12 – 16.

The visits will be made at the invitations of Chilean President Gabriel Boric Font and Peruvian President Dina Ercilia Boluarte Zegarra, respectively, according to an announcement of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs.Read full story

At the events, taking place as part of his trip to attend the 8th Greater Mekong Subregion (GMS) Summit and bilateral activities in China, PM Chinh noted that the friendly neighbourliness, comradeship and fraternity between Vietnam and China are developing fruitfully, providing an important cornerstone for their enterprises to enhance connections. - The Party and Government of Vietnam always value and support Vietnamese localities in strengthening cooperation with their Chinese peers, Prime Minister Pham Minh Chinh told Chairman of the Guangxi Zhuang Autonomous Region Lan Tianli in Kunming, Yunnan, on November 6.

At the meeting held as part of the PM’s attendance at the eighth Greater Mekong Subregion (GMS) Summit and working trip to China, Chinh noted that Guangxi is where Vietnamese President Ho Chi Minh conducted revolutionary activities for the longest period, and highlighted the support and assistance shared by the Chinese locality and Vietnam during the sides’ respective national liberation and development causes. - A Vietnamese delegation led by Rear Admiral Pham Nhu Xuan, Deputy Commander of the Vietnam People’s Navy, is taking part in the 29th international naval defence exhibition Euronaval, held at the Paris Nord Villepinte exhibition centre in the suburbs of Paris on November 4-7.

The Vietnamese delegation visited areas displaying new equipment, technologies, and weapons of some major defence industry businesses of France such as Thales, Naval, and LaCroix. Read full story

- Authorities have established contact with both of the two pilots involved in a military aircraft crash, which occurred during a training flight over Tay Xuan commune in the south central province of Quang Binh’s Tay Son district on November 6.

According to the Ministry of National Defence, at around 6:45 p.m., rescue teams received information via a mobile phone of Colonel Nguyen Van Son, Commander of Air Force Regiment 940. Read full story

- Hanoi lured over 5.1 million tourists in the first ten months of this year, an increase of 28.5% over the same period last year.

Vietnam to host major multilateral events in 2025

Vietnam will take centre stage in international diplomacy this year with multiple high-profile bilateral and multilateral events, including the second ASEAN Future Forum, the fourth Partnering for Green Growth and the Global Goals 2030 (P4G) Summit, and the UN Conference on Trade and Development (UNCTAD), according to Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of Foreign Affairs Bui Thanh Son.
