Nonthaburi (NNT/VNA) - The Thai Ministry of the Digital Economy and Society is holding the CEBIT ASEAN Thailand 2018 event on October 19 and 20 to encourage the public to embrace the 4.0 era through various digital technologies.
The product exhibition fair also serves as a platform for entrepreneurs to exchange ideas and engage in business matchmaking. Digital technologies from more than 200 companies from various parts of the world, including Germany, are being displayed at the event. These products are designed to answer the needs of the industrial sector at the local, regional and global levels.
At the event, Minister of the Digital Economy and Society Dr. Pichet Durongkaveroj gave a special lecture on the Overview of Digital Infrastructure in Thailand, saying that the Kingdom is entering a truly digital age, thanks to the government’s push for several projects that encourage the use of technology to boost the economy and improve society.
He said these projects are related to communication infrastructure, which also includes projects on Pracharat Internet, underwater cable, smart city, and cybersecurity. The Minister said that these programmes must be implemented along with the effort to educate residents about the benefits of technology, in order to bring Thailand into the digital age.
CEBIT ASEAN Thailand 2018 continues until October 20th at Building 7-8 of Impact Arena, Muangthong Thani. The organizers expect the fair to draw at least 8,000 visitors.-NNT/VNA
