The Peruvian Embassy in Vietnam will organise a number of cultural events in Hanoi and Ho Chi Minh City to celebrate the 20th anniversary of diplomatic ties between Vietnam and Peru (1994-2014).
A food week is being held from November 18-24 in the two cities with the participation of the famous chef Maria Rosa, who introduces Peruvian specialties such as Quinoa salad and the well-known beverages Pisco Sour and Algarronina.
A gala dinner will also be held to review the joint achievements made in politics, foreign affairs, trade and culture during 2014.
Additionally, a Peruvian film week will take place in Hanoi from December 5-7, showcasing five films including “The Milk of Sorrow”, which was nominated for the 82nd Oscar for Best Foreign Language Film in 2009. The film festival will be open to the public at Cinematheque at 22A Hai Ba Trung, Hanoi .
In 2013, bilateral trade between Vietnam and Peru reached 154.3 million USD, with 110.5 million USD generated by Vietnamese exports to the South American nation.-VNA
