Central Highlands provinces have mobilised more than 32 billion VND (1.54 billion USD) for programmes to build new-styled rural areas, focusing on infrastructure and production.
As production is defined as a key factor of the programmes, the regional provinces has focused their resources on developing large-scale production in combination with processing and consumption.
Dak Lak province alone has since 2011 implemented 17 production development projects, helping improve incomes and living standards for local people.
Ethnic people in the province have also donated over 450 billion VND and 75,000 sq.m of land for building and expanding rural roads and power lines.
However, there remain limitations on attracting social resources and businesses’ investment in agriculture and rural areas, said the Central Highlands Steering Committee.
The committee, therefore, asked the ministries and central agencies to have mechanisms to support production, making people easier to access capital loans.-VNA
