Tran Viet Hung, Deputy Headof the committee praised Dak Lak’s achievements, especially in thesocio-economic sector, culture and political-system building.
He asked the province to pay more attention to a series of issues in the coming time.
It should reassess its forests and development plans for hydroelectricity plants, Hung said.
Any hydropower project which has great impacts on the natural environment or forest should be cancelled, he stressed.
Hung also requested that the province composes a report on thedevelopment of agricultural and forestry projects as soon as possible.
At the meeting, the provincial officials suggestedthat ministries and agencies continue providing assistance to help itcomplete unfinished projects, especially those related to agricultureand settlements for nomadic ethnic communities.
Poorhouseholds and families living near the poverty line as well as keyinfrastructure projects in Dak Lak are also in need of central-levelassistance, they added.-VNA
