Ho Chi Minh City (VNA) – The UEFA Champions League Trophy tour, part of the “Stirring football jubilation – Bring cup to Vietnam” progamme organised by Heineken, started its trip to five cities in Vietnam on April 8.

After its first stop in HCM City, the trophy will travel to Da Nang on April 9 and Nha Trang in the south central coastal province of Khanh Hoa the day after.

It will be in Hanoi for two days, April 11 and 12, before reaching the final destination of Hai Phong on April 13.

Two former football stars, Ruud Gullit and Carles Puyol, will accompany the trophy through famous landmarks at every city it goes through.

The two UEFA Champions League trophy winners will also take part in music and football events, as well as meetings with fans during the tour.

Gullit, 54, of the Netherlands, won two Champions League trophies with AC Milan in 1989 and 1990, while Puyol of Spain, 48, earned three trophies with Barcelona in 2006, 2009 and 2011.-VNA
