The Red Cross Society of China has presented 30,000 USD to the Vietnam Red Cross Association to help flood victims in the Mekong delta provinces of Vietnam.
Chinese Ambassador to Vietnam Kong Xuanyou handed over the donation to President of the Vietnam Red Cross Tran Ngoc Tang in Hanoi on Nov. 4.
Ambassador Kong said that the Chinese Party and people deeply sympathise with the Vietnamese people in localities in Vietnam which are experiencing major flooding.
He expressed his belief that with efforts by the Vietnamese Party and Government and assistance from international friends, the Vietnamese people will rapidly overcome the aftermath of the disaster.
Tang asked the Chinese Ambassador to convey sincere thanks from the Vietnamese people to the Red Cross Society of China and the Chinese people for their help.
He said that numerous activities have been carried out in the Mekong Delta provinces to help affected people and many nations and international organisations have also provided assistance to Vietnamese flood victims./.
