Hanoi (VNS/VNA) - Exports of animal feed and raw materials to the Chinese market account for 40.7% of Vietnam's total export turnover of these items.
The information was shared by Pham Kim Dang, Deputy Director of the Department of Livestock Production under the Ministry of Agriculture and Rural Development, at a conference on sustainable farming development in Hanoi on August 14.
Statistics from the General Department of Customs show that the export of animal feed and raw materials reached over 492.88 million USD in the first six months of 2024, a year-on-year decline of 5.6%.
Exports reached 86.6 million USD in June, down 6.2% month-on-month and down 10% year-on-year.
China is the largest import market for animal feed and raw materials from Vietnam.
The export of animal feed to the Chinese market reached over 200.48 million USD in the first six months of the year, down 16.6% year-on-year.
Vietnam exports to this market reached 36.59 million USD in June, down 12% compared to month-on-month and down 24.4% year-on-year.
Following China is the US market with nearly 63.62 million USD, up 91.8%, accounting for 12.9%, Cambodia 55.54 million USD, down 33.5%, accounting for 11.3%, Malaysia 49.51 million USD, down 4.1%, accounting for 10%.
The results achieved showed that Vietnam's technology and quality of animal feed fully meet the requirements of the import markets, said Dang./.

Vietnamese exports to the United States (US) such as computers and parts, electronics, machinery and equipment, garments and footwear have ample room to grow, according to trade experts.
