Beijing (VNA) - China and the Philippines agreed to speed up the pace of their cooperative projects, hoping to make vital progress within this year, a Chinese commercial official said on September 9.
Wu Zhengping, Director General of the Department of Asian Affairs of the Chinese Ministry of Commerce said the agreement was reached when Chinese Commerce Minister Zhong Shan and Philippine economic officials discussed their cooperative projects on the sidelines of the 49th ASEAN Economic Ministers' Meeting and related meetings in Manila, the Philippines.
The discussions mentioned projects on airports, railways, and irrigation systems included in the Six-Year Development Programme for Trade and Economic Cooperation signed by China and the Philippines in March this year, Wu said.
The Six-Year Development Programme was signed in March this year, aiming to provide a guideline for trade and economic cooperation between China and the Philippines.-VNA
