China's first freight train depart to Vietnam after RCEP comes into effect

According to Xinhua News Agency, train number X9101 carried more than 800 tons of cargo

The train will reach its destination after a 28-hour journey.

Goods on board include electronics, daily necessities, and chemicals.

This is the first international freight train from China to a member country of the Regional Comprehensive Economic Partnership (RCEP) after the agreement took effect on the same day.

RCEP comprises 15 member countries in the Asia-Pacific region, including 10 member states of the Association of Southeast Asian Nations (ASEAN) along with China, Japan, South Korea, Australia, and New Zealand.

RCEP is the world's largest trade agreement, contributing 30% of global GDP./.
