Yen Bai (VNA) – A delegation of the State Ethnic Affairs Commission of China led by its Vice Minister – Deputy head Li Zhao had a working session with officials from the Steering Committee for the Northwestern Region in Yen Bai province on June 3 to learn about its ethnic affairs.

At the reception, Deputy Minister and deputy head of the steering committee Hoang Thi Hanh said the material and spiritual lives of ethnic minorities in the region, particularly in the remote and mountainous areas, have improved thanks to the Party and State policies.

The visit affords a chance for both sides to learn from each other’s experience in socio-economic development for ethnic minorities, she said.

Li acknowledged that the Vietnamese and Chinese Party and State have issued policies conducive to ethnic minority groups, including those regarding infrastructure and personnel training, as well as maintaining solidarity and equality among nations.

He hoped that both countries would share experience in carrying out ethnic policies and increase cooperation in diverse areas.
