As many as 116 businesses from Zhejiang province of China are showcasing export products at a fair which opened in the capital city of Hanoi on May 18.

On display at almost 200 booths are a wide range of commodities, including machinery, electric and electronic appliances, construction materials, interior decor, garment materials and household utensils.

Qin Zhong, Director of the provincial Zhejiang Department of Commerce, said the fair was seen as an important move to realise economic and trade deals signed during Vietnamese Prime Minister Nguyen Tan Dung’s visit to the province in 2010.

While emphasising the potential for further economic and trade cooperation between Vietnam and China , and Zhejiang in particular, Vietnamese Deputy Minister of Industry and Trade Nguyen Thanh Bien said that the fair offered local companies a chance to approach hi-tech equipment and machinery as well as diverse products.

With the broad participation of producers of garment materials, Vietnamese garment businesses would have various choices in terms of selecting high-quality and reasonably priced materials, gaining experience and seeking partners, Bien added.

The fair will be open through May 20./.
