China’s Huawei Group will provide equipment and solutions for the EVN Telecommunications Company (EVNTelecom) to build its 3G network.

A contract to this effect was signed in Hanoi on November 18.

Speaking at the signing ceremony, EVNTelecom Director Pham Duong Minh said that before EVNTelecom officially launches 3G services on April 30, 2010, the company will set up its network infrastructure with 2,500 base transceiver stations (BTS/Node B) covering 46 percent of the population in the first phase of the project.
