HCM City (VNA) – A delegation of the Party Committee, People’s Committee and the Vietnam Fatherland Front Committee in Ho Chi Minh City on December 21 visited the HCM City Archdiocese on the occasion of Christmas and New Year holidays.

Secretary of the municipal Party Committee Nguyen Van Nen extended greetings to Joseph Nguyen Nang, Archbishop of the Archdiocese, priests, dignitaries and Catholics in the city.

Nen spoke highly of their contributions to the COVID-19 fight in HCM City, and expressed a hope that they will continue to join efforts in the construction and development of the southern metropolis.

For his part, Joseph Nguyen Nang said the Catholic community is always put their trust in the Party and the State, and seriously observe pandemic prevention and control regulations, while participating in patriotic emulation campaigns.

Also on December 21 morning, a delegation of the Party Central Committee’s Commission for Mass Organisation paid a pre-Christmas visit to the Can Tho Diocese in the Mekong Delta city of Can Tho./.
