Communication helps blood donation succeed

The capital city Hanoi has so far this year seen 35,000 litres of blood donated, exceeding the whole year’s goal by 2 percent.

The outcome was attributed to the city’s organisation of diversecommunication campaigns that helped citizens of all walks of lifeunderstand and get involved in the blood donation.

Over 700 officials were trained and 22,000 leaflets distributed among the public to make the campaigns succeed.

A blood donation club was established with more than 100 people standing ready to donate blood in emergency cases.

As many as 3,000 students at universities and colleges across the city are regularly donating their blood to hospitals.

The city has honoured 1,000 collectives and individuals in donation campaigns.

In 2014, Hanoi aims to collect 125,000 units of blood donated.-VNA

Vietnam, Japan strengthen cooperation in leadership training
