Communist Parties of Vietnam, Russia seek to bolster economic ties

The Communist Party of Russian Federation always attaches importance to the traditional ties with the Communist Party of Vietnam and wants to play an active role in developing the bilateral ties in investment, trade, banking-finance, and tourism.

Hanoi (VNA) – TheCommunist Party of Russian Federation always attaches importance to thetraditional ties with the Communist Party of Vietnam and wants to play an activerole in developing the bilateral ties in investment, trade, banking-finance,and tourism.

The opinion was delivered by Leonid Ivanovich Kalashnikov, member of thePresidium – Secretary of the Central Committee of the Communist Party of theRussian Federation in Hanoi on March 13 at his meeting with Chairman of the PartyCentral Committee’s Commission for Economic Affairs Nguyen Van Binh.

For his part, Binh said the Party and Government of Vietnam prioritizeconsolidating the long-standing friendship and Comprehensive StrategicPartnership with Russia, highly speaking of the progress the two nations madein economics and trade.

He welcomed initiatives made by the Communist Party of Russian Federation tobolster the two countries’ cooperation in economics, trade and investment.

On March 12, Kalashnikovmet with Chairman of the Party Central Committee’s Commission for ExternalAffairs Hoang Binh Quan during which the two sides discussed ways to boost thetwo parties’ relations in the coming years.

They agreed that theparties need to further enhance cooperation, and increase information exchangeand coordination at multilateral political party forums.

On the same day, theRussian official was hosted by DeputyPrime Minister Trinh Dinh Dung, who is also Chairman of the Vietnam-RussiaInter-Governmental Committee for Economic-Commercial andScientific-Technological Cooperation.

Dung agreed with several proposals by the Communist Party of RussianFederation to effectively implement the Vietnam-Eurasian Economic Union (EAEU)Free Trade Agreement which is expected to bring the two-way trade between thetwo nations to 10 billion USD in 2020.

During the visit, the Russian officials had a working session withofficials from the State Bank of Vietnam, seeking to step up affiliations infinance-banking.-VNA
