President of the Vietnam Fatherland Front (VFF) Central Committee Huynh Dam on May 17 congratulated Buddhists on the occasion of Buddha’s birthday anniversary.
In a letter sent to the Vietnam Buddhist Sangha (VBS), Dam hailed contributions made by local Buddhists to the country’s socio-economic and cultural development over the past time.
He expressed his belief that the VBS in its capacity as a VFF member will take a more active part in patriotic movements and campaigns launched by the VFF Central Committee.
Dam called on the VBS to bring into full play their motto of “Protecting the nation - Relieving the people” in the new stage of development, thus helping strengthen the national great unity for a wealthy people as well as a strong, democratic, equal and civilised country.-VNA
