Hanoi (VNA)– The Party, State and people always memorise and honour the contributions byhealth workers, President Nguyen Xuan Phuc affirmed on February 27.

At a Hanoi meeting withrepresentatives of health workers on the occasion of the 67th anniversary of the Vietnam Physicians’ Day, the leader spoke highly of theircontributions, role, efforts and sacrifices in caring for the people’s health,especially over the past more than 2 years, and asked them for further effortsto help effectively contain the spread of the COVID-19 pandemic.

He rejoiced at theirachievements in recent years, and reminded them to unceasingly improve theirexpertise so as to meet the current requirements, and to resolutely fight androll back every negative phenomenon.

The leader also askedfor continued attention to the life of health workers, especially those ineconomically disadvantaged areas, high-risk environments, to ease their difficultiesin both immediate future and long term.

He asked relevant authoritiesto make digital transformation a top priority of the sector, and stressed that itmust be made in a more urgent, quicker and stronger manner to meet therequirement and expectation of the society, not only in serving Vietnamesepeople but also turning health care into an important economic sector./.

“I love my fatherland” journey 2026 launched

The “I Love My Fatherland” journey will comprise seven stages linked to historical, cultural and revolutionary sites across the country. Education ministry targets five digital technology incubators at universities

A key target under the new plan is the establishment of five digital technology incubators, or Deeptech Hubs, at universities and research institutes with strong potential. The education ministry also plans to launch a training programme for 1,000 outstanding technology entrepreneurs and develop criteria for selecting and supporting startup ecosystems within educational institutions.

Vietnam Customs expands capacity to tackle cross-border narcotics crime

Established in November 2025, the NTC comprises six officers from the Anti-Smuggling Investigation Sub-Department specialising in surveillance, intelligence collection and information analysis. The centre is tasked with strengthening customs capacity in risk assessment and drug crime targeting, helping authorities detect and prevent illicit cross-border trafficking of narcotics and other dangerous substances at an early stage.
