COVID-19 vaccine fund raises over 241 million USD

As of 5pm on June 16, Vietnam’s COVID-19 vaccine fund received over 5.54 trillion VND (241.48 million USD) from 312,301 organisations and individuals.

Hanoi (VNA) – As of 5pm on June 16, Vietnam’sCOVID-19 vaccine fund received over 5.54 trillion VND (241.48 million USD) from 312,301 organisations and individuals.

The fund’s official website,www.quyvacxincovid19.gov.vn, has also been launched, aiming to facilitate onlinedonations.

The fund is set up to receive, manage, and usevoluntary financial and vaccine donations and assistance from domestic andforeign organisations and individuals, along with other legal sources, for theCOVID-19 vaccine procurement and import, research and production in thecountry, and the provision of vaccines for people.

Managed by the Ministry of Finance, the not-for-profitfund will use the mobilised capital resources for right purposes and in linewith legal regulations, ensuring publicity, transparency and efficiency.  It is subject to the examination, inspection,and auditing by relevant State agencies and to the supervision by the VietnamFatherland Front and the community.

Vietnam needs 150 million doses of vaccines toadminister about 75 percent of its population this year, with total costamounting to 25.2 trillion VND (1.09 billion USD)./.

Dong Thap tightens fishing vessel management

French-language newspaper launches video contest

Phu Quoc launches English classes for vendors, drivers ahead of APEC 2027

Under the project “Enhancing foreign language capacity for the community in the 2026–30 period, with a vision to 2045”, recently announced by the Phu Quoc Special Zone authorities, English programmes will be piloted at 10-15 schools across all three education levels from September 2026 to June 2027.

An Giang takes zero-tolerance approach to IUU fishing

Alongside the continued implementation of comprehensive anti-IUU fishing measures, An Giang has proposed that the Government promptly introduce policies to support fishermen in switching livelihoods and decommissioning nearshore fishing vessels in order to conserve natural fisheries resources.

Singer, media executive charged over YouTube music copyright infringement

The Investigation Police Agency under the municipal Public Security Department said on August 5 that it had prosecuted and placed in temporary detention Nguyen Thi Hien, owner of the YouTube channel Phuong Diem Huyen, and Nguyen Thanh Hiep, Director of Unicorn Vietnam Media and Entertainment Co., Ltd., for investigation on the charge of infringing copyright and related rights under Article 225 of Vietnam's Penal Code.

Vietnamese students shine at AIMO 2026 international finals
