Vientiane (VNA) – A quiz on the Dien Bien Phu Victory and the signing of the Geneva Agreement on ceasefire in Vietnam in 1954 was launched on July 4 in central Savannakhet province for Lao students.
It was organised by the Vietnamese Consulate General Savanankhet in collaboration with the provincial Department of Education and Sports, the Vietnamese Association, and the Laos - Vietnam Friendship High School in Savannakhet province, attracting around 300 students.
Organisers said it offers a chance for students to understand more about the connection between the revolutions in the two countries, which is a basis for building the Vietnam - Laos fighting alliance in the war against the US imperialists, and connecting their destinies in their national liberation and development.
Vice Director of the Department of Education and Sports of Savannakhet Anousone Soutthivong said this activity helps students deeply understand the history of the Dien Bien Phu Victory and the Geneva Agreement.
Students gathered knowledge and information by watching videos to answer multiple-choice questions online or directly on paper.
The organisers awarded one first prize, two second prizes, and three third prizes./.
