COVID-19: Vietnam reports 3,717 new cases on May 2

A total 3,123 new cases of COVID-19 were recorded in the past 24 hours from 4pm April 30 to 4pm May 2, according to the Ministry of Health.

Hanoi (VNA) – A total 3,123 newcases of COVID-19 were recorded in the past 24 hours from 4pm April 30 to 4pmMay 2, according to the Ministry of Health.

Hanoi continued to report the highest number ofinfections on the day with 761 cases, followed by Phu Tho with 185 andYen Bai with 176.  

The national tally reached 10,656,649.

A total of 1,090 COVID-19 patients were given the all clear onMay 2, bringing the number of recoveries so far to 9,265,456.  

Just two deathwere recorded in the past 24 hours, taking the total fatalities to 43,044, equal to 0.4 percent of the total caseload.

By May 1, thecountry had injected 214,991,119 dosesof COVID-19 vaccines./.

Ho Chi Minh City targets completion of universal health check-ups by December 15

According to the municipal Department of Health, as of July 20, a total of 732,873 residents had undergone periodic check-ups and had electronic health records established. The figure reflects encouraging initial results from the citywide campaign launched by the department and underscores local authorities' commitment to implementing one of the largest community healthcare programmes ever undertaken in the southern metropolis.
