Da Nang (VNA) - Da Nang supports and will create the bestconditions for Kazakh businesses when investing in the central city, Chairmanof the municipal People’s Committee Le Trung Chinh told Kazakh Ambassador toVietnam Kanat Tumysh on December 18.

Hosting the visiting Kazakh ambassador,Chinh expressed his hope that the diplomat will act as a bridge connectingKazakh businesses with Da Nang.

He briefed the guest on the city’ssocioeconomic development situation, stressing that it has been identified as growthnucleus of the central key economic region, and is moving towards the “service-industry-agriculture”economic structure, and promoting foreign affairs and internationalcooperation.

Kanat Tumysh said that in recent times, therelationship between Vietnam and Kazakhstan has developed positively. However, thatbetween Da Nang and Kazakhstan remains limited, only stopping at exchangingdelegations and organising a few cultural diplomatic events.

In August, on the occasion of the workingvisit to Vietnam by Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of Trade and IntegrationZhumangarin Serik Makashevich, the two countries signed a joint action plan, includingthe consideration of the possibility of signing a memorandum of understandingon cooperation between Aktau city of Kazakhstan and Da Nang in the 2023-2025 period, he shared.

The diplomat proposed the two sides intensifycooperation in potential projects in construction, high technology, social housing,and tourism development./.

Finance ministry eyes flexible tax thresholds

In a draft law amending several articles of the laws on personal income tax, corporate income tax and value-added tax, Vietnam's finance ministry proposed scrapping the fixed revenue threshold of 500 million VND. Instead, it suggested the threshold be set by the Government based on prevailing economic conditions.
