Da Nang to host 143,000 tourists

Da Nang (VNA) - The central city of Da Nang will host 143,000tourists, including 82,000 foreigners, visiting during the Christmas and NewYear vacation from December 24 through January 2.

The city’stourism authority said 65,000 tourists have already booked rooms at hotels andresorts to explore the city’s landmarks.

It said61,000 tourists will take 357 flights from Australia, the US, Europe, Japan,China and the Republic of Korea to the city during the Christmas season.

Five-starhotels and resorts including Furama, Fusion Maia, Pullman, One Opera andNovotel also host buffets and New Year’s eve parties for local and foreigntourists staying in the city during the holiday week.

Budgetairline VietJet Air plans to carry 180 tourists on the Incheon-Da Nang flight tothe city on the first day of the New Year, while cruise MSC Lirica willbring 2,000 tourists to dock at Tien Sa port on January 1.

Thenational flagship carrier Vietnam Airlines has offered promotional tickets of 29USD for local tourists to destinations in the Southeast Asia and East Asia,while flights to Europe, Australia and the US are just 249 USD.

Theauthority said the year of 2018 would see increasing flights from Incheon,Busan, Deagu of the Republic of Korea, Hongkong and Osaka as budget airlinesbegan launching their direct flights in 2016.-VNA
