Da Nang (VNA) – The People’s Committee of the central coastal city of Da Nang has announced that the first phase of its 2025 drive to eliminate temporary and dilapidated housing will address 1,140 houses of this kind, of which 212 will be rebuilt.
According to the municipal authorities’ freshly issued decision, the responsible units must complete the house construction and repairs for eligible households before May 1.
The beneficiaries of this initiative include families of people who rendered service to the nation, poor and near-poor households, and those who lack the means to build or repair their homes. To qualify, these groups must not have received housing assistance from other programmes within the past 10 years. Additionally, the houses and land must be legally recognised or eligible for land-use certificates. The homes must not be situated in areas marked for clearance, disputes, or public land planning, and the average living space per person must be less than 8 square meters.
The total budget for the project to eliminate temporary and dilapidated housing in the central economic hub this year is estimated at 47.4 billion VND (1.85 billion USD). Of this, 30.3 billion VND will be sourced from the state budget, while the remainder from the for the poor fund and other fundraising efforts.
Support levels range from 60 to 100 million VND for new homes and 30 to 40 million VND for home repairs./.
