Dak Lak (VNA) – In preparation for the ninth Buon Ma Thuot Coffee Festival from March 9-13, travel firms in the Central Highlands province of Dak Lak have developed 34 tour programmes to enhance visitor experiences.
Accordingly, these tours offer diverse experiences, including whitewater rafting, off-road forest adventures, boat trips on the Serepok River, and cultural encounters with M’nong elephant trainers. Other highlights include heritage tours, a journey through the legendary Don village, and a visit to the Lak district dugout canoe race.
A special focus this year is on coffee-themed tours, allowing visitors to explore coffee farms in bloom, learn about coffee cultivation and production, visit cocoa plantations and processing plants, and see coffee roasting techniques ranging from traditional to modern methods.
To integrate festival activities with sightseeing, customised tour packages include visits to Trung Nguyen Coffee village, the World Coffee Museum, and local waterfalls. Tour durations range from one-day trips to four-day experiences, offering flexibility for visitors.
To support tourists, Dak Lak has printed 3,000 travel handbooks containing festival details, accommodation listings, and sightseeing recommendations.
A QR code version is also available for easy digital access. Additionally, pricing for all tours and 277 accommodation facilities has been publicly listed to ensure transparency.
A new feature this year is heritage discovery tours, showcasing the locality’s 46 recognised historical and cultural sites.
According to Nguyen Thuy Phuong Hieu, Deputy Director of the provincial Department of Culture, Sports, and Tourism, these tours aim to promote local heritage and natural landmarks.
With over 5,500 rooms and 13,000 beds available across the province, Dak Lak is prepared to accommodate visitors. In case of high demand, additional lodging options such as homestays and university dormitories will be utilised.
Authorities have pledged strict monitoring of accommodations and tourism services to prevent overcharging and ensure a high-quality visitor experience./.
