9th Buon Ma Thuot Coffee Festival to celebrate global coffee destination

The opening ceremony themed “Buon Ma Thuot - Destination of World Coffee” on March 10 will be a highlight of the event, showcasing vivid images of coffee, coffee culture, people, and the Central Highlands gong culture space, potential, strengths and tourism of Dak Lak.

Dak Lak (VNA) – The 9th Buon Ma Thuot Coffee Festival will take place in the Central Highlands province of Dak Lak from March 9 to 13.

The festival will feature a wide range of activities to honour coffee growers, processors, and traders.

The opening ceremony themed “Buon Ma Thuot - Destination of World Coffee” on March 10 will be a highlight of the event, showcasing vivid images of coffee, coffee culture, people, and the Central Highlands gong culture space, potential, strengths and tourism of Dak Lak.

The Executive Director of the International Coffee Organisation will give a speech at the event, contributing to positioning Buon Ma Thuot as a global coffee hub.

As part of the main activities within the festival, a street festival will be organised on the same day afternoon, gathering art troupes from many countries, artisans, artists, students, and employees from from coffee companies and factories, as well as coffee farmers in the province.

Other activities such as an exhibition of coffee industry supporting products, machinery and equipment serving coffee industry, and specialty coffee and OCOP products; a specialty coffee roasting competition; an international trade connection conference; a coffee camp; a photo exhibition, and cultural and art exchange programmes; and coffee-related experience tours, will be arranged.

Buon Ma Thuot is the capital city of the Central Highlands province of Dak Lak – Vietnam’s largest coffee-producing region. It is known for its coffee products with exquisite and flavourful blends that are highly favoured worldwide.

It also holds an important position in terms of politics and economy, serving as a hub in the Central Highlands region, which boasts beautiful landscapes and cultural, historical, and artistic heritage of significant value./.
