Da Nang’s first walking street opens

Bach Dang walking street, the first of its kind in the central city of Da Nang, was inaugurated on June 7 in Hai Chau district.

Da Nang (VNA) – Bach Dang walking street, the first of its kind in the central city of Da Nang, was inaugurated on June 7 in Hai Chau district.

The 1.2 km pedestrian street runs from the foot of the Dragon Bridge and APEC Park to Tran Thi Ly Bridge, providing tourists with night-time experiences.

Speaking at the opening ceremony, Chairman of the Hai Chau district People's Committee Le Tu Gia Thanh said that the street is located in a prime location along the Han River, with panoramic views and fresh air.

For a long time, the area has become a popular destination for domestic and foreign tourists. It is also closely associated with the political, economic and cultural life of Hai Chau district in particular and Da Nang city in general.

The walking street opens from 3 pm to midnight daily. Coming to the street, residents and tourists can enjoy many unique cultural, artistic, and street art activities, and diverse stalls for shopping, particularly food stalls.

The opening of the walking street is among the city’s efforts in preserving and promoting existing local strengths, boosting the development of the night economy and creating a highlight tourism destination in the city./.
