Dao ethnic man embracing digital transformation

Lac Van Quan was born in a Dao ethnic family in the northern mountainous province of Ha Giang with a four-generation tradition of producing ancient Shan Tuyet tea.

He was the only person from the Dao ethnic community to attend the Hanoi Tourism Gift Festival 2024, showcasing local tea leaves to domestic and international visitors.

He exemplifies the story of ethnic minorities striving to embrace digital transformation in their daily lives.

Quan’s booth also has a QR code printed on the door, visitors just need to scan the code to have information on the types of ancient Shan Tuyet tea that his cooperative provides.

Digital transformation not only helps Quan reach more customers, but also gives him and ethnic minorities a new way of thinking about promoting and doing business with local products.

The Hanoi Tourism Gift Festival 2024 took place from August 23-25 at Tran Nhan Tong pedestrian street, Hai Ba Trung district.

His Vietnamese tea space is a positive sign of the Party and State’s efforts to help ethnic minorities access and apply digital transformation in recent times./.
