Defence Minister pays pre-Tet visit to Vinh Phuc

Vinh Phuc (VNA) – Vice Secretary of the Central Military Commission and Minister of National Defence Gen. Phan Van Giang visited and offered New Year wishes to several units of the army in the northern province of Vinh Phuc on January 20.

Giang asked the province to continue ensuring national defence-security, considering it a key and regular task while improving material and spiritual lives so as to offer a warm Tet to all residents.

Vice Secretary of the provincial Party Committee Hoang Thi Thuy Lan said the province earmarked over 37 billion VND (1.633 million USD) as gifts to policy beneficiaries and poor households for Tet. It also directed armed forces to ensure social safety and order for the occasion.

On the occasion, Giang granted 750 gifts to policy beneficiaries, poor workers and residents in the province.

He later also visited the provincial Military High Command and public security forces./.
