Defence ministry unveils English web portal

The Information Centre for Military Science under the Ministry of National Defence unveiled its English version of its web portal, found at www.bqp.vn and www.mod.gov.vn, and its e-paper www.baodientu.bqp.vn in Hanoi on December 19.

The portal will have the latest news on politics, defence and military affairs both at home and abroad. It also houses a collection of audio, videos and materials about theministry, the establishment and development of the Vietnamese people’sarmies, militia and self-defence forces, education-training, militarymedicine, environmental protection, economy, national defence, cultureand sports. In the spotlight is the leadership and direction of defence and military duties of ministries, agencies and localities. After a one-year pilot operation, the web portal has become amultimedia channel of the ministry and the Central Military Commissionto raise public awareness of the Party’s policies and State law. It covers a wide range of events involving national defence-security,socio-politics, defence relations, international and economic affairs,culture-sports, science-technology, world defence, weapons andequipment, and lifestyle among others.-VNA
