Lieutenant General Tran Quang Khe, Deputy Chief of the General Staff of the Vietnam People’s Army, received Major General Dniel R.Hokanson, the Adjutant General of the Oregon National Guard in Hanoi on April 2.
Both sides agreed that the bilateral cooperative ties have grown in a positive and extensive manner over recent years.
The Vietnamese official said the Vietnam-US defence ties have been promoted through high-level military delegation exchanges, rescue work, English language and medical training and programmes surmounting the aftermath of war.
He noted that the ongoing visit has created a good chance for the two sides to continue implementing the Memorandum of Understanding on defence cooperation signed in September 2011 and the State Partnership Programme struck in 2012.
Major General Hokanson has confirmed that he will do his utmost to bring the most effective outcomes for the State Partnership Programme, thus helping strengthen the bilateral cooperative ties.-VNA
