Singapore (VNA) – Two more people have died of denguefever in Singapore, bringing the total number of dengue fatalities so far thisyear to seven, according to the National Environment Agency (NEA) of Singapore.
The total number of dengue cases in Singapore this year hasexceeded 6,000, more than double the same period in 2019. The number of weeklycases remains high, between 300-400 per week.
The agency warned the number of cases in 2020 is projected tosurpass that in 2019 unless immediate measures are taken.
The NEA has advised people to take measures to stop mosquitoesfrom breeding.
Previously, the NEA called for strengthenedmeasures in the community to curb the disease, while applying social distancingfrom April 7 to June 1 to prevent the COVID-19 virus from spreading./.
