Deputy PM attends Boao Forum in China

Hai shared Vietnam ’s viewpoints on the integration process and ASEAN’s resolve to complete the building of the ASEAN Economic Community by 2015.

He stressed the meaning and significance of narrowing the development gap within the bloc and the region, enhancing the linkage in infrastructure, institution and people-to-people exchange as well as coordination in coping with climate change and environmental protection to ensure sustainable development.

At another session themed “ Asia in a changing world”, the Vietnamese Deputy PM said the strong shift of Asian economies toward a healthy and sustainable growth is in line with the world’s common trend.

With its rapid recovery capacity after the global financial-economic crisis, Asia is emerging as a dynamic region and works as a driving force in global economic development, Hai said.

He underlined the need to combine policies at regional and global levels, develop human resources and invest in innovation to help the regional economy recover in a sustainable manner in the future.

Hai took the occasion to introduce Vietnam ’s economic restructuring policy that targets green and sustainable growth.

Earlier, on April 1, Hai met with Deputy General Secretary of the Organisation for Economic Cooperation and Development (OECD) Richard Boucher, during which they exchanged measures to boost cooperation between OECD and Vietnam.-VNA
