Deputy Prime Minister Hoang Trung Hai endorsed the multifaceted cooperation between Vietnam and China, and the Yunnan province in particular, and encouraged Chinese enterprises to make long-term investments in Vietnam.

He made the remarks while addressing the third China-South Asia Fair and the 23rd Kunming Export and Import Fair, both of which are being held in Kunming city, Yunnan province, China.

He said the China-South Asia Fair bears an important significance and serves as a bridge to promote trade and investment cooperation among Asian countries.

He called on the region to solve disputes and disagreements through dialogues based on international laws in order to maintain a peaceful and stable environment for promoting connectivity and developing trade and investment.

The economic, trade and investment cooperation between Vietnam and China has grown strongly, Hai said, adding that China has been Vietnam’s biggest trade partner for 11 years and Vietnam is China’s second trade partner in Southeast Asia.

The China-South Asia Fair, which opened in Kunming city on June 12, attracted over 3,000 enterprises from 31 countries and territories in South Asia and Southeast Asia and more than 6,000 booths.

Vietnamese enterprises are running 144 booths at the fair, displaying agricultural and aquaculture products, footwear and wood products.

Many forums and conferences will be organised in tandem with the fair, such as the seventh Greater Mekong Sub-region Economic Corridor Forum, the 10th China-South Asia Trade Forum and the first China-South Asia Technology Innovation and Transfer Conference.

The exhibition will last until June 16.-VNA
