HCM City (VNA) - The Deutschland Fest 2017 took place atthe HCM City’s Labour Cultural Palace on April 22. 

It aimed to introduce locals to the German economy, culture andfood by presenting activities staged by Germany and Vietnamese artists.

German music, dance and circus performances as well as film screenings werefeatured.    

The festival included Hip-Hop, Tanz and DJ, a German-Vietnamesehip-hop programme that aims to enhance connections between German andVietnamese dancers and musicians. 

The show also featured DJ Mirko Machine and hip-hop dancer andchoreographer Raphael Hillbrand, with the Vietnamese dance group SINE Crew.

Mirko is one of Germany’s most influential hip-hop DJs. He beganhis career in 1988 and has won several top prizes at DJ contests.

Dancer and choreographer Hillbrand has performed and worked withVietnamese artists since his first visit to Vietnam in 2004.  

The SINCE Crew shot to fame after entering the semi-final round ofthe international competition Battle of the Year 2014, a contest for youngdancers held in Hanoi. 

At Hip-Hop, Tanz and DJ, the artists stagedcontemporary dances with hip-hop beats accompanied by sound and light effects.

The event was organised by the Goethe Institute in HCM City in cooperationwith its partners, including the Consulate General of Germany in HCM City andDelegates of German Industry and Commerce in Vietnam.-VNA

Grand celebration, parade marking 50th national reunification anniversary to take place on April 30 in HCM City

A national-level celebration celebrating the 50th anniversary of the liberation of the South and national reunification in Ho Chi Minh City on April 30 will feature a 30-minute art performance, flag-saluting, speeches by top leaders and representatives of war veterans and young people. It will be followed by a military-civilian parade and a symbolic release of balloons and doves.

Visitors enjoy Thai environment, lifestyle at Hanoi festival

At the Thai Festival, from March 28 night to March 30 morning in Hanoi, visitors explored typical Thai dishes, along with health care and beauty care products and traditional handicrafts. They also enjoyed traditional dances from many regions of Thailand, tried making Khanom Krok coconut cakes and painting patterns on silk, among other activities.
