Pretoria (VNA) – Vietnamese Ambassador to Tanzania Vu Thanh Huyen has told the host Minister for Foreign Affairs and East African Cooperation January Yusuf Makamba her wish for the early opening of the East African nation’s representative agency in Vietnam.
The suggestion was made as the diplomat presented a copy of her credentials to the minister on May 22. Huyen pledged efforts to propel the countries’ friendship for the sake of their peoples and proposed ways to expand bilateral cooperation in various sectors, particularly politics, economy-trade, and collaboration at multilateral forums.
She also expressed her hope that Vietnam and Tanzania will soon sign a number of cooperation agreements conducive to the partnerships and operations of their enterprises.
In response, Makamba said he will work closely with the diplomat so that she can fulfill her mission.
Tanzania treasures the traditional and friendly relationship between the two parties and states that share ideological similarities, the minister stated and expressed his hope that with the sound political foundation, bilateral investment cooperation, trade and people-to-people exchange will continue to flourish.
Both sides agreed to effectively implement bilateral cooperation plans in the future, including delegation exchanges. They also shared a wish for concrete steps to be taken to further enhance the ties, especially given the countries’ marking of the 60th anniversary of their diplomatic relations in early 2025./.
