The People’s Committee of the southern province of Dong Nai held a working session with relevant agencies on July 23 to speed up the relocation of production establishments and businesses which have polluted the environment.
By December 31, 2015, hundreds of polluting facilities, including pottery kilns and slaughter-houses, are required to move from residential areas to distant and safer locations.
However, relocations are facing difficulties such as the lack of supportive policies and funding shortages.
To resolve the hindrances, the provincial People’s Committee has requested localities to focus on raising business awareness, intensify inspections and take initiative to deal with violations.
Detailed reports on relocation progress and business instructions are also required.-VNA
