Vietnam–China people-to-people exchanges enhanced through flight connectivity

The new air routes play a key role in strengthening connectivity between Vietnam and China, especially as 2025 marks the 75th anniversary of bilateral diplomatic relations, and the Year of China-Vietnam Humanistic Exchange. They represent an important step forward in fostering aviation cooperation between the two countries, while also providing favourable opportunities for tourism development, trade cooperation, and cultural exchanges between their cities.

In ASEAN, Indonesia is Vietnam's third-largest trading partner, while Vietnam is Indonesia's fourth-largest trading partner. Bilateral trade exceeded 16 billion USD last year, with Vietnam's exports estimated at over 6 billion USD, the highest ever recorded.

China - Vietnam's economic ties have flourished, with bilateral trade and investment growing rapidly. In 2024, trade reached 260.65 billion USD, up 13.5% from the previous year, while Vietnam is also an important destination for Chinese investors.
