A ribbon cutting ceremony for the US education advising centre was held in Hanoi on Sept.13, according to the Lao Dong (Labour) newspaper.

The centre will provide accurate, comprehensive, objective and timely information on a full range of accredited schools in the US, help students to apply to college, find information about financial aid opportunities and select the school which matches students’s goals and interests.

US Ambassador Michael Michalak said that at present there are 7,000 accredited universities in the US and the advising centres in Hanoi and Ho Chi Minh City will be a bridge for Vietnamese citizens to learn about study opportunities in the country.

He also warned that Vietnamese students should consider carefully the information provided by private education advising centres in Vietnam./.
