A diverse range of education options available in the US, from public and private universities to community colleges, training curriculum and visa requirements, were introduced at the 2015 EducationUSA Fall Fair, which opened in the central city of Hue on October 9.

The fair was held by the US Consulate General in Ho Chi Minh City and Hue University as part of activities celebrating the 20 th anniversary of the Vietnam-US diplomatic relationship. The event drew the participation of more than 40 US universities and colleges.

Highlights of the fair included a US College Quiz and presentations on the cultural regions of the US.

According to Consul General Rena Bitter, the EducationUSA fair was designed to benefit students, parents and others interested in studying opportunities in the US.

She said the fair gave participants the chance to meet face-to-face with representatives from regionally accredited colleges and universities, while allowing them to get tips and guidance on student visa procedures.

It also informed visitors about the availability of free advising services at the EducationUSA Advising Centre in Ho Chi Minh City, she added.

EducationUSA is a US Department of State network of over 400 international student advising centres in more than 170 countries. The network promotes US higher education to students around the world by offering comprehensive, current information about opportunities to study at accredited postsecondary institutions.-VNA
