Prime Minister Nguyen Xuan Phuc speaks at the event. (Source: VNA) Hanoi (VNA) – The e-Government would helpfight corruption, push administrative reform and improve investmentenvironment, said Prime Minister Nguyen Xuan Phuc.
The sluggish buildingof the e-Government will lead to low productivity and backwardness, the PM saidat a working session on e-Government building with representatives of a numberof ministries, agencies and the national committee on IT application inbuilding the e-Government in Hanoion May 14.
Highlighting thesignificance of a national database, he said the current problem lies with thenegligence of some ministries, agencies and localities, not the lack of resources.The leader, therefore, asked Cabinet members and cities and provincesnationwide to join hands in e-Government building.
Administrative reformshould go in tandem with IT application at all levels, he said, describing ITas a tool to materialise the reform target.
In that spirit, PMPhuc agreed with the Government Office’s proposal to establish a nationalcommittee on e-Government by revamping the national committee on IT applicationin building the e-Government which is chaired by the PM.
At the workingsession, Minister-Chairman of the Government Office Mai Tien Dung reportedexperience in implementing the e-Government of several countries like Estonia, Franceand Malaysia.
Many delegates sharedthe views that the most important, urgent task is to connect data between Stateagencies, firstly those in the tax, customs and social insurance sectors,explaining that 90,000 wards and communes across the country have set up theirown portals.
The Government Officealso proposed the Government build a national service portal and implement aone-stop-shop portal.-VNA
