EMW, French locality build schools in Thua Thien-Hue

The US-based East Meets West Foundation (EMW) and France ’s Poitou-Charentes region will build primary schools in the central province of Thua Thien-Hue .
The US-based East Meets West Foundation(EMW) and France ’s Poitou-Charentes region will build primary schoolsin the central province of Thua Thien-Hue .

The provincial People’s Committee received the two projects on March 3.

The EMW-funded project to build the Quang Vinh Primary School 2 inQuang Vinh commune, Quang Dien district, has a total investment capitalof over 1 billion VND, of which, 820 million VND will be provided bythe US-based non-governmental organisation.

The project will build five new classrooms, restrooms and a modernwater filter as well as upgrade the campus of the school.

Meanwhile, the Poitou-Charentes region will provide 50,000 EUR toupgrade the Van An Primary School in Huong Tra district’s Huong Phongcommune and support 900 poor students aged from six to 15 in theprovince with 20 EUR each./.

19 localities eradicate substandard houses

Four more provinces have announced the completion of efforts to eliminate makeshift and dilapidated housing, bringing the total number of localities achieving this milestone to 19 out of 63 nationwide, according to the Ministry of Ethnic and Religious Affairs.

Vietnam accelerates repatriation of citizens detained in Myanmar

On April 8, 28, and May 14, three groups comprising a total of 471 citizens safely returned to Vietnam.
