Environmental film festival to be held from September 23

The Spanish Embassy in Vietnam has received permission from the Ministry of Culture, Sports and Tourism to hold an environmental film festival from September 23 to October 7 in Hanoi.

Hanoi (VNA) - The Spanish Embassy inVietnam has received permission from the Ministry of Culture, Sports andTourism to hold an environmental film festival from September 23 to October 7 inHanoi.

The "#It'sTime to Act-A Nature Film Festival in Vietnam" festival, withenvironmental films from Europe, Latin America and Vietnam (National Studio ofDocumentary and Scientific Films) will be showing feature films, documentaries,and short films with subtitles in Vietnamese.

The festival will be open free for the public in a hybrid format (both online& offline in Hanoi and Ho Chi Minh City).

Together with the showcase, participating entitieswill seize the chance to raise general awareness about environmental issuesthrough two possible open debates on “Women Leaders Defending Nature” and“Protecting Biodiversity: sharing solutions to Save the Future” together withother activities mainstreaming the environment during a weeklong series ofenvironmental events across the social media in Vietnam./.

Three new plant species discovered in Nui Chua National Park

The newly discovered species are shrub-like smaller trees with floriferous branchlets called Sam cuong dai (Memecylon longipedunculatum), Diep ha chau Nui Chua (Nymphanthus adenophorus) and Long muc Nui Chua (Wrightia nuichuaensis). Their discovery was officially published in Phytotaxa, a leading international journal on plant taxonomy and biodiversity, on January 19, 2025.
