An exhibition of traditional costumes worn by Vietnam’s ethnic groups was opened to the public at the Wallonie-Brussels regional government building in B elgium on October 1.

As part of the activities held during the ‘V ietnam Cultural Week’, currently underway in Belgium , the exhibition introduces visitors to exhibits and photographs portraying all of Vietnam ’s 54 ethnic community groups.

The event aims to promote the country’s cultural diversity.

Speaking at the opening ceremony, Vietnam ’s Ambassador to Belgium , Pham Sanh Chau, said he hoped that the exhibition will help to strengthen friendship and understanding between the two countries.

The Vietnam Cultural Week’ runs from September 29 to October 6 to highlight the 40 th anniversary of Vietnamese-Belgian diplomatic ties in 2013.

On September 30, Ambassador Chau presented a selection of Hue ’s unique royal cuisine at the Royal Museum for Arts and History.

The exhibition was jointly organised by the Vietnamese Embassy in Belgium and the Vietnam ’s Cultural Arts Exhibition Centre at the Ministry of Culture, Sports and Tourism.-VNA
